UK Unemployment At Worst Level For 17 Years

The UK jobless total reached a 17-year high in the three months to October, hitting 2.64 million.

The number of people out of work rose 128,000 in the period while youth unemployment, which covers 16-24 year olds, hit its highest level since records began in 1992 by passing the 1.027 million mark.

The growth was not enough to push the country's unemployment rate higher - still standing at 8.3%.
The figures, released by the Office for National Statistics (ONS), also showed that benefit claims had risen by far less than expected last month.

There were 3,000 new claimants in November - well short of the 14,000 forecast - which took the total to 1.59 million.

October's increase was also revised down.

Separate ONS statistics showed that public sector employment had dropped to its lowest level since September 2003 in the third quarter, falling by 67,000 to 5.987 million.

A MONTH-OLD baby boy was fighting for life last night after being raped and battered.

He suffered a cardiac arrest brought on by his multiple horrific injuries.

In one of Britain's worst ever child abuse cases, every rib was fractured and the boy also suffered a broken arm, broken collar bone, punctured lungs and severe bruising.

There was also a sexual injury and internal wounds suggesting rape. A 46-year-old man was under arrest last night on suspicion of rape and grievous bodily harm. A woman was also in custody.

The child was taken to Darent Valley Hospital in Dartford, Kent, on Thursday. He had a heart attack there and was transferred to King's College Hospital in South London, where he was on a life support machine last night.

Britain gives £1.4billion in aid to a country that has its own space programme.

The country is racing up the league of rich nations. Indeed, its soaring economy will outstrip

Indians have squirrelled away more money in Swiss bank accounts (a total of £900 billion since independence from Britain in 1947) than the rest of the world combined.

International Development Secretary Andrew Mitchell has committed Britain to spending £29billion in aid between 2012 and 2015

Birmingham Whites are Losing their Voice.

A WHITE working class community in Birmingham feels its rights are being harmed by “political correctness”, according to research published today.

Residents in Aston were asked for their views on integration for a study by the Joseph Rowntree Foundation.
The investigation uncovered a deep-seated belief among the ward’s white population that their views were not listened to by the city council and the Government and that policy makers had failed them.


They hit out at Aston Pride regeneration project, which saw £50 million of public money poured into part of the area.

None of the Aston Pride board members were white residents of the area, the report noted, even though 29 per cent of the local population was white. They also claimed that council housing was allocated unfairly with “queue-jumping or preferential treatment for certain groups”.

One Aston resident told researchers there was no one to speak up for the white community, adding: “We are the forgot about people. You plonked us here and forgot about us.”
